ORIGINALLY POSTED on FaceBook, 7/27/2025.

Thirty miles from the Canadian border, Watertown NY. More about yesterday's journey from Erie PA to Watertown and my exploration of the Thousand Island area of NY in my next blog. Stay tuned...

Whoa, slow down Jim! What the heck, how and what do you carry for such a long journey? And, how do you go about keeping everything clean? Several curious minds have wondered. Great questions. Every 7th day is laundry day. Unless my hotel has a guest laundry service, I find a nearby coin laundromat, e.g. McKean PA’s EZ Clean Laundry. (Side note: the McKean Tavern is the best smalltown pub I've been to in a long time.)

Here’s my gear list, amazing that it all fits:

1. Five T’s rolled with underwear & socks

2. Two long-sleeve T’s, one cotton and one sweat wicking

3. Two extra T’s

4. Two workout shorts and socks

5. One extra pair of riding pants

6. One pair of jeans

7. Lightweight, easy wash ‘n dry cargo shorts

8. Swimsuit

9. Running shoes

10. Flip flops

11. Laptop

12. GoPro

13. Drone

14. Helmet

15. Riding vest

16. Riding gloves

17. Riding boots

18. And whatever I am wearing

Any more questions? Please keep 'em coming.

Loaded and ready to roll

Laundry with a nearby brew pub while waiting for fresh clothes.
